Lukas Rossi at Best Buy Games Invasion

BestBuy was holding a Gaming Invasion 07 this weekend at Yonge-Dundas Square to play the latest games on PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS and Xbox 360. Lukas Rossi was at there on Saturday to play the hugely popular Guitar Hero game, signed autographs and performed for his fans.

After playing some Guitar Hero against a few people, Lukas performed a short 6 songs set. The songs performed were Lonely Ones, It's All Love, Empty Cities, Living on a Prayer, Same Mistakes, and Headspin. Lukas was in great spirit, interacting and joking with the enthusiastic crowd, who sang along every single song. He was in great vocal form, and it was just a blast to hear him live again. I can listen to that man sing for hours on end!

Oh, and Lukas talked a bit about his new band Stars Down. His album is almost finished, and should come out soon. I'm looking forward to that!

Here are some pictures from the set. Thanks to Tammy for letting me use them!

American Idol show lived up to its sponsor's name
http://www.herald-dispatch.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070921/LIFE/709210369/1004

Exert:

I figure, it's not totally a bad thing for that first show to be one that introduces a new generation to songs from Motown and The Beatles.

I know we enjoyed the concert and both got chills up our spine when Lakisha Jones whispered gently into the Dolly Parton-written/Whitney Houston-covered, "I Will Always Love You."

And the chills weren't just because we knew Dolly wrote the song about Porter Waggoner, but because Lakisha, and even a few of her friends up there, sure can sing.

Tour de force

Exert:

The tour is still grueling, though. After hours of traveling, Jones' day usually starts about 5 in the morning with hotel check-in; at noon she checks out. By 3 p.m., there's a news conference followed by a sound check. She tries to squeeze in time to call her 4-year-old daughter Brionne, who lives with Jones' mother in Flint, Mich., while the singer is on the road. By 7:15 p.m., it's show time.

Exert:

Jones and the other finalists from the hit Fox reality show rolled into the arena last night to hordes of screaming tween fans (and their moms). Even yesterday afternoon, fans - some in homemade "BLAKE IS HOT" T-shirts - stood vigil outside, hoping to snag an autograph from Idols like runner-up Blake Lewis.

'Idol' Chris Richardson comes back to town
http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=132660&ran=210741

Exert:

The "Idol" odyssey has jump-started Richardson's hopes for a solo music career. From here on out, his name could pop up in many places besides Chesapeake.

We caught up with HR's newest musical celebrity on the road, while he's working on the album he hopes to release.

When's your album coming out? Do you have a date yet?

I don't have a date yet. I'm working on it as we speak. I've been writing on it, but I'm not officially signed with anyone yet. But I do have three songs that'll be on Blake's (second-place winner Blake Lewis) album. I've been writing with him. Hopefully I'll have a couple on Jordin's. (Jordin Sparks, first-place winner.) On the tour I've just been songwriting. I've been trying to build credibility in different fields, not just as a solo artist but songwriting. I think in the music business you gain more respect the more stuff you dip your hands in.

Review: In Hampton, Idols fight for respect
http://www.dailypress.com/news/dp-now-idolpreshow-0918,0,6962903.story?coll=dp-auto-utility

Exert:

Another highlight of Tuesday's set came courtesy of local hero Chris Richardson, who pulled off an unexpectedly solid duet with Idol winner Jordin Sparks on Rascal Flatts' ballad "What Hurts the Most."

As for the much-talked-about band segment featuring Richardson on drums, Sligh on bass, Blake Lewis and Malakar on guitar, and Stacey on keyboards, let's just say the boys didn't embarrass themselves. Richardson showed he has a natural rhythmic feel and Stacey's keyboard chops sounded solid enough. They managed to cook up a listenable take on the Gnarls Barkley hit "Crazy" before moving on to a bombastic and at times regrettable "Hey Jude."

Maybe it's the way the producers of the show planned it, but, in the end, Sparks and Lewis, Idol's top two contestants, seemed the night's true stars. Lewis got plenty of stage time for his human beatbox routine, but he also sang well and performed like a seasoned entertainer.

'Idol' chatter rocks city

Exert:

When the Chesapeake resident grabbed the microphone during the American Idols Live! stop at the Hampton Coliseum, screams and cheers ricocheted to the rafters and back. But Richardson, who shined on a showcase version of the peppy tune "This Love," was far from the only idol who made the nearly 6,000 fans howl with happiness.

Singer Blake Lewis impressed with his human beatbox routine. Phil Stacey poured enough vocal power to float a battleship into his version of Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory." The 2007 "Idol" show winner Jordin Sparks showed the chops and charm that won over so many voters.

Exert:

He says, "Getting back to my hometown, it's so exciting. Everyone else has been to their hometown already and mine is at the very end. But it's been good, everybody seems to like it and love the area."

Richardson and the other top ten finalists came to Hampton Roads for their 55th show on the idol tour. But before taking the stage at the Hampton Coliseum, they took in a little family time with Richardson in Chesapeake.

"They had a BBQ at Chris's house with all his cousins. We had a good time," says another idol, Blake Lewis.

BO BICE SET TO RELEASE 'SEE THE LIGHT'

BO BICE SET TO RELEASE 'SEE THE LIGHT' ON OCTOBER 23 FIRST SINGLE AND VIDEO IS "WITNESS"
September, 18, 2007

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

October 23 will mark the release of SEE THE LIGHT, the second album from BO BICE. Recorded in his hometown of Nashville with producer Frank Liddell, the new disc will be previewed in late September by the single "Witness."

With SEE THE LIGHT, the world is finally getting to see the real BO BICE. The BO people saw on American Idol and heard on the subsequent gold-certified album THE REAL THING was just a taste of the broad and deep spectrum of music the Alabama-born singer has a passionate drive to write and sing. On SEE THE LIGHT, he promises we are getting to hear "the genuine BO."

"This time it was just total freedom. We had no inhibitions about what this was going to be; we just went in and did whatever we wanted to. The freedom shines through."

SEE THE LIGHT (StratArt) is the kind of classic American album that's heard all too rarely in these days of careful calculation and tight formatting. BO is the kind of artist who can't find enough musical roads to travel, and he demonstrates it on this broad-reaching 10-song set that spans the crunchy, Southern-fried rock of "This Train," "Got Money" and "Whiskey, Women & Time," the funky groove of "Witness," the swampy soul of "Take the Country Out of Me" and stark, emotional ballads such as "Only Words" and "Sinner in a Sin."

In partnership with the nation's largest retailer, SEE THE LIGHT (StartArt) will be sold exclusively in Wal-Mart stores nationwide with a special pre-sale in place through Walmart.com now until October 23. As of the October 23 release date, SEE THE LIGHT will be available via other digital avenues.

In the vein of doing things differently for this album, BO and his management decided to take a chance when looking for a director for "Witness," the album's first single and video. Rather than going with an established director, they turned to Ramon Boutviseth and decided to take a chance on a "guy from North Carolina." Boutviseth came to BICE's management's attention after he won an online contest directing a video for another of their artists; he previously was a finalist in a similar contest for Incubus. Scheduled to be filmed in Nashville, the clip will incorporate performance footage into a story line inspired by the song's lyrics.

"We were looking at video treatments and when we got to this one, it made the most sense," BO says. "And it's great that we're able to support an up and coming artist."

For more information on BO check out www.bobice.com or myspace.com/bobice.

The complete track listing for SEE THE LIGHT is as follows:
1. Witness
2. Take the Country Outta Me
3. I'm Gone
4. Only Words
5. Got Money
6. See the Light
7. Sinner in a Sin
8. This Train
9. Ain't Gonna Die
10. Whiskey, Women & Time
