Random Song of The Day - Incubus - Earth To Bella pt 1 & 2 - video and lyrics

3- Earth To Bella (part 1 and part 2) - Incubus- Light Grenades 2006

What a surprising song. It starts all sweet and soft, then the guitars come and knock you off your feet.... Very short, too. I don't know, there's something powerfully intense in those 2 and a half minutes. Part 2 is calmer, with organ and acoustic guitar... Until mid way through, when electric guitars kick in... Beautiful. Incubus.

Earth to Bella,
You think you've got it all figured in,
Earth to Bella,
Everything you know is wrong. Well, almost
Earth to Bella,
I've seen when you are not listening
I bear the burden
Of being the voice that lets you know
We all grow old,
And before you swim you've gotta be ok to sink.
Earth to Bella,
The world can be an unfriendly place.
So hold your head up
And do your best to save some face.
It's not so hard...
Just undo yourself and see a
Second sun ascend.
I'm ok to sink
ok to sink
Im ok to sink
ok to sink.

Earth to Bella
This is a quiet emergency
Earth to Bella
There's so much more to get then wronged
Earth to Bella
You're treading water successfully
But are you really?
Don't you want to see the deep?
It's not so hard
Just forgive yourself and feel the water open in

David Cook - Orillia, ON - 11/16/09 - Concert Review and pictures

josie, cdngrl, rhons, cristina and I were all at the show on Monday night. It was cool to meet another rbler. :)

I was against the stage again, same spot as in Windsor, but since the stage was wider, I ended up right in front of Neal. Loved every freaking second of it.

David was in a great, playful mood last night. It's funny, I feel like we got sexy Dave in Windsor, and we got funny, dorky Dave in Orillia. The crowd seemed to be much more receptive than in Windsor, too. He did the whole "say bye to your chair" and we front row peeps had a lot of fun with him. ;) He was interacting quite a bit with us, which was cool.

At some point he mentioned that Andy had a birthday recently. After Andy said "24" to David's question as to how old he was, I shouted "Make him sing!" and David heard. The whole front row started screaming "Make Andy sing!" and David was insisting. Andy answered "But, I've been singing all night". LOL So cute. Then as David insisted, Andy started playing "My Heart Will Go On" from Celine Dion on his guitar. Soon the whole band was playing it. It was HILARIOUS. DC had a field day with that. He also broke into some faux falsetto and sang a few words, or mumbled a few notes. HI. LA. RIOUS.

We had yet another awesome set list!!!

Mr. Sensitive
Heroes
We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping
Souvenir
Kiss on the Neck
Lie
Bar-ba-sol
Make Believe
Hot for Teacher
Come Back To Me
Light On
I Did It For You

I'm glad I got to hear "Honest" once again. I just absolutely adore this song. I really hope that at some point in time, we'll get a studio version of it. Somehow, someway...

'Til I'm Blue was on the set list, but the stage was high (higher than in Windsor), so none of us saw it until after the show. At that point in the show, David mentioned how the casino had Christmas decorations already up, so that surely meant Christmas was coming. And when you say Christmas, you think about gifts. At that point I was wondering if he'd break into a Christmas song. LOL But then he said we'd be his guinea pigs, and I knew they'd be playing Make Believe, so I screamed just that. It was really awesome!!!!

They played I Did It For You as the very last song of the encore, and David went into the crowd while the band played an extended guitar solo at the end. He went all the way to the back of the venue, behind the sound board. He made his way back to the stage, and ended up coming back to it where i was standing. He was getting mobbed, people were moving to let him go through, but they all were touching him and grabbing at him. So when he came up next to me, I wrapped my arm around his waist and said go ahead and kind of pushed him forward. He started climbing the stage, my hand still on his lower back... I felt the need to help and gave him a push, but my hand slid.... *blushes* I swear I was being helpful!!! *huge smile* He sat down on the stage right there for a few seconds, got up, went to each end of the stage and bowed down, center stage and a bow, and he was gone.

I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of strange not to have Declaration during the set! I mean, it's the Declaration Tour, right? Shouldn't they play it at every show? *L* I understand they have to change the set list, otherwise they'd get bored out of their gourds... It was just an omission that I noticed, is all.

There were 3 piks left on Neal's mike, so we asked a tech guy and he gave it to us. Well, he gave it to the two girls on either side of me, one of which happened to be my friend cristina. Since she got the set list, and she knew how I love Neal, she gave it to me. :)

About 15-20 min later, David was out at the buses, and he was signing stuff and giving out hugs and posing for pictures. He got to everyone. The line was long at the beginning, but grew even bigger at some point. There must have been 100-150 of us? Maybe more? He got through to everyone. He stayed out for a good hour. And it was freezing cold. I got him to sign the sleeve from his record, but also the MWK cd he played on (Incoherent with Desire To Move On). I asked for a pic, which I got, and while I had my arms around his waist, I asked quietly for a hug, which he happily gave away. Awesome. :)

It was another great show, and as epic as Windsor for me, although different. I feel extremely lucky for all the experiences that I got, and for the friends I've met! Would do it all again in a heartbeat!

And here for some pictures...

David Cook - Windsor, ON - 11/14/09 - Concert Review and pictures

Where to even begin???? This night was epic beyond belief.

My friend Cristina and I traveled from Toronto to go see David at the Ceasar's Casino in Windsor. 4 hours away! A bit of a trek, but it turned out to be really worth it.

We arrived there early, so we strolled around after having checked in at the hotel (which was a 2 min walk away from the casino - good job Cristina!). We ended up finding where the buses were parked, and saw the guys hop off the bus and walk into the venue. We didn't bother them. We were not even close to them, so they didn't even notice us watching them. There was a woman who ran to David, screaming his name, camera in hand. David froze, and looked like he was frighten! It was quite funny, although I'm sure he didn't think so. The security person letting them in in the venue came to his rescue.

We hung around the casino, found the venue, went to the bar - really nice! - and had a drink with my friend Lara. It was nice to catch up and see her again! After a few drinks, we went back to the hotel to get ready.

We got into the venue perhaps 20 min before the show started. It was PACKED! Sold out, 5000 seats SOLD OUT!!!! That was so cool to witness and be a part of. Very happy for David and the band that they can sold out a place like that.

So our seats were center section, row 8 on the aisle, pretty much in front of Neal. Good seats! But we had heard that standing at the stage was going to be allowed, so we were ready for that. I'm not telling how we did it tho! :) But we were right there as the show started. Cristina ended up right in front of David, I was a few people down from her towards Neal. Which turned out to be the best spot I could have ever picked.

David looked really good dressed in a dark purple shirt, grey pants and black cowboy boots. Both Andy and Neal were dressed all in black and had a vest over their shirt, although Neal's shirt might have been really dark blue.

So, we got an awesome set list:

Heroes
Mr. Sensitive
I Did It For You
Souvenir
Kiss on the Neck
Lie
Declaration
Bar-ba-sol
Little Lies
Light On
Died in Your Arms
Straight Ahead
Come Back To Me

I always love, love, love Heroes as an opener. That and Declaration (and perhaps Straight Ahead) are the best to open a show. They are just so incredibly grabbing you from the get go! Makes you dance and sing along and get into the feel of the show right away. I just love it.

Mr Sensitive and I Did It For You always surprise me live. They are so different than on the record. So mellow, very pop-ish on the record, they really do rock live and sound grittier, angrier, more raw. Love them both.

Kiss On The Neck was absolutely epic for me. Not only is it one of my very favorite from the album, but I shared a cool, albeit short moment with David. It was right as the bridge starts, right after the "moan" that every woman out there love so much (yeah, yeah, I'm one of them, too, not gonna lie!). He's got his hands on the mike, his head almost falling in between his arms, but not quite. He had his eyes closed, and as soon as he opens them, he looks at me. Stares at me would be more accurate. What girl on this earth wouldn't go all fangirly on him when he looks at you that way? He had just moaned in a very sexy way, and then locks eyes with me? Hell yeah I thought it was amazing. So he keeps staring at me, so I mouth to him something I never though I would say - you're hot, you're fucking hot. You'll tell me that's nothing new, that he hears that all the time, and that I was not very original. I'd say you are speaking the truth! But I couldn't think of anything else to say, and I wanted to keep this little (albeit really sexy) staring contest going. So, I'm sure he read my lips, and knew what I said. He stares for a second longer, and then gives me that dorky face, eyes crossed and everything. I die.

But that's not all. You can tell that he thought the whole thing was pretty funny, and he's got that little sly smile on his face. He grabbed the mike at the point, and came to stand right in front of me. I mean, his toes were hanging from the stage. I kinda laughed at it all, thinking, you tease, you want to give me a view, eh? He stayed there for the longest time, talking some none sense to the crowd. I've now convinced myself he was looking for an excuse to come stand in front of me (and please do not try to make me believe otherwise lol). He might have expected me to grab at him, rub his legs or something, but I didn't. Maybe I should have. Eh.

Neal killed me dead when he licked his guitar during Bar-ba-sol. I'm not joking, my knees gave out and my head fell onto my friend's shoulders, who was standing right behind me (waves at cdngrl*. There's another who's fully aware of how the women react to their rockstar moves up there on stage. The way Neal manhandle that guitar, it's... Amazing? Awesome? Fucking sexy? Cream your panties hot? All of that? Yeah. Not only is he sexy, but it's just a total privilege to see him play that guitar. The skills he's got, it really is quite unbelievable. Especially when it is done right above me, about 12 in away from my face. DYING.

Died in Your Arms might be one of my favorite covers they are doing at the moment. It's just so different than that 80's pop tune! I can't believe how great it sounds. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved the song, but done the way they do it, it's just a totally different song at this point. Never though I could pogo to this song!

And we got Straight Ahead! I'm so happy about that. I love Analog Heart and I wish I could see a set of just AH songs. Those songs are just so amazing! At any rate, it was my second time to see Straight Ahead live, and again, it did not disappoint.

I'll be honest and say I love Come Back To Me. But as the last song? It's a bit anti-climatic. I'd finish with a bang, with Heroes, or Light On, or something. But not Come Back To Me. Oh well.

We headed out to the buses after the show, where a small, calm crowd of maximum 30 people was gathered and waited for David and the band. They came out, maybe 30 min after the show, but headed straight for the buses. The buses sat there for a bit, but then took off. Oh well. It was just nice to say to David and the guys, as they walked passed us "Thank you for a great show guys!", and have him look me in the eyes again and say "Thank you".

We headed back inside where we had more drinks and talked and laughed and took silly pictures until 2 in the morning. Great times, and in good company. :)

And now, time for a little pic spam. Juuuuuuuuuuust a little one. ;) As always, please feel free to repost the pictures, just leave the tags on please. :)
